28 April 2015 - A leading South Korean electric power generation company is eyeing the possibility of entering the renewable energy market in the Philippines, its top executive told Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez during a call on the latter on April 22.
LS Industrial Systems (LSIS) Chief Executive Counselor Soon Hong Choi commended the growing expansion of trade ties between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea and conveyed the keen interest of LSIS to explore business opportunities in the renewable energy sector in the Philippines.
Ambassador Hernandez invited the LSIS to send a delegation to look into the renewable energy prospects in the Philippines and to meet with relevant Philippines agencies and companies.
LSIS is the leading Korean company in electric power generation with US$2.3 billion in sales in 2014. LSIS pioneered the SMART GRID system, a low carbon emission micro-grid system of localized power grids powered by a combination of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and diesel. END
