4 May 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi joined the Filipino community in a fashion event featuring the banaca wraps of Filipino designer Dita Sandico-Ong and the wedding gowns of YEN. The event was held in Dusit Thani Hotel on April 16.

Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Grace Relucio Princesa praised the world class designs of Filipino designers and highlighted the exceptional quality of Philippine fibres used in the clothing in her short message. She also added that the Embassy will showcase Philippine fibres during the celebration of the Philippine Independence Day in June.

Ms. Agnes Stott-Briggs, President of the Philippine Business Council delivered an informative presentation about grooming and fashion. A foreign hairstylist as well as a make-up artist was also invited to give presentations.

A runway show featuring the wedding gowns of Filipino designer Yen capped the evening affair.  END
