05 May 2015 – Captain Henry R. Tabinas, Jr., orthopedic surgeon at the AFP Medical Center, bagged the top prize at the recently concluded Young ASEAN Military Medical Officer (YAMMO) Research Presentation held at the sidelines of the 5th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from April 27 to May 01.
Capt. Tabinas, a member of the AFP delegation headed by Col. Joseph M. Acosta, MC, CO AFPMC, bested other ASEAN representatives with his paper on “The Effects of Intra-anticular Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Concentrate Injection as a Conservative Treatment to Degenerative Osteoarthiritis of the Knee.”
The Armed Forces of the Philippines will host the 6th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference and YAMMO in Manila next year. END
