06 May 2015 - Dr. Dai Fan, Associate Professor from the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jinan University paid a courtesy call on Philippine Consul General Raly L. Tejada on April 27.
Dr. Dai was a visiting scholar at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines (Diliman) from 2007-2008.
In 2014, in order to promote Philippine Studies in the university, he established the Center for Philippine Studies where he is currently the Deputy Director. Every year he invites Filipino scholars to the university as visiting scholars. He also expressed interest in promoting Philippine cultural activities and has offered the institution as venue for such activities.
Consul General Tejada welcomed the opportunity to strengthen ties with the institution particularly in the promotion of Philippine Studies and culture in China. He also thanked Dr. Dai for the offer to host Philippine cultural activities at the Jinan University particularly in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Philippines-China diplomatic relations.
The Philippine Consulate in Guangzhou is donating books to Jinan University and will collaborate on an exhibit among other projects for consideration with the university. END
