11 May 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi received donations from the Kapisanan ng mga Pinay na may Asawang Indiano sa Hindustan (KAPIHAN) New Delhi for the Filipino community in Nepal who were affected by the devastating earthquake. The donations included water purifier tablets, sleeping mats, blankets, bed sheets, bedcovers, clothes, medicines, and other utilitarian items.

The donations from KAPIHAN were brought to the Embassy by Ms. Gita Chugh and her daughter, Priyanka Chugh, Ms. Leonie Sherpa, and Mr. and Mrs. Suraj Prasad, who expressed their sympathies for the Filipinos in Nepal who suffered severe damage to their property or loss of their homes.

The Embassy’s Crisis Management Team (CMT–2) brought the donations to Kathmandu on May 01.

Meanwhile, CMT–1 is already in place in Nepal’s capital and is ready to distribute food and portable water to the Filipino community. The Philippine Honorary Consulate in Kathmandu serves as headquarters for both CMT-1 and CMT-2.
