21 May 2015 – The photo exhibit of Filipino photographer Carlos L. Esguerra was opened on May 18 at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago. It was well attended by members of the Filipino-American Community in Chicagoland.
Mr. Esguerra is a landscape and fine arts photographer, who has received more than 50 national and international awards. His works have been selected in numerous juried exhibitions in many states in the United States, Canada, Austria, France, Germany, Sweden, and in other European countries. He loves to capture the beauty of nature with the least number of elements, framed and composed in a simple austere view.
Mr. Esguerra is a recipient of the Pamana ng Pilipino Award in 2008, the highest award given by the President of the Philippines to overseas Filipinos who had excelled in their chosen fields of expertise.
The exhibit is open to the general public until May 22. A reception, hosted by Philippine American Cultural Foundation (PACF) at the Kalayaan Hall of the Consulate General, concluded the day’s event. END
