22 May 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo sent a five-man contingent to Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture on April 25, and to Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture from May 16 to 17 to deliver consular and overseas voters registration services to the Filipino community.

The Sendai Mission was done in cooperation with Damayan and Kapatiran under the leadership of Miss Charity Sato. The mission was held in Sendai International Center. Post’s five-man team processed 114 e-Passport applications, five notarials and other consular services, 42 overseas voters registrations, and conducted 32 consultations.

Representatives of the Embassy also went to Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka to conduct a two-day mission for consular services to the Filipino community in the area. They were was assisted by NPO Filipino Nagkaisa under the leadership of Miss Grace Nakamura and the Hamamatsu International Cultural Exchange (HICE), a Japanese local government agency.  Post’s five-man team processed 338 passport applications, 77 notarial and other consular services, and 48 overseas voters registrations, and held 77 consultations.

The Embassy performs outreach services to other prefectures outside Tokyo every month to provide more Filipinos from far-flung areas increased access to consular services. END
