22 May 2015 - Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines Executive Director and APEC PPP Experts Advisory Panel Chair Cosette V. Canilao participated at the roundtable discussion by the Asia-Pacific Financial Forum on “Expanding Opportunities for Long-Term Investment in Asian Infrastructure”, held in Toronto on May 15.
In her presentation, Executive Director Canilao highlighted recent developments and initiatives in the country’s PPP programs and policies. These include, among others, reforms instituted by the Aquino administration for greater transparency and results-effective project implementation. President Benigno Aquino’s strong commitment to PPP to spur the country’s economic growth was enunciated by Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF-C) Vice President Kasi Rao in his opening remarks and by panel moderator, Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Romoff. Both referred to the President’s very recent state visit to Canada during which the President called on prospective PPP investors in the country’s infrastructure projects at the roundtable discussion on May 08 with top Canadian businessmen that included Mr. Romoff and organized by APF-C.
