26 May 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara and the Filipino community in Turkey celebrated three significant events, namely, Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), Araw ng Paggawa (Labor Day) and Araw ng mga Ina (Mother’s Day) on May 03 at the Mabini Hall of the Embassy chancery.

A presentation from members of the Filipino community was performed for the occasion—a  mini-play depicting touching letters between a mother and child. Another video, a tribute to all mothers entitled "Kay Inay" was shown, eliciting an emotional response from many in the audience. Ms. Carlwina Victoria Neri and Ms. Melissa Aguilera concluded the program by singing Carol Banawa's "Awit kay Inay", while the children gave purple flowers to all the mothers present.

Members of the Filipino community performed an interpretative song entitled "Bayani Ka", highlighting the lives of overseas workers abroad working very hard in order to sustain the needs of their families, especially their children's education.

A video of award-winning Filipino modern dance group El Gamma Penumbra's ‘Salutes to Pinoy Heroes and Love and Peace’ was also shown during the program. END
