29 May 2015 –The new Philippine Consul General in Manado Oscar G. Orcine attended the National Month of Civil Togetherness and the 43rd Anniversary of the Regional Women’s Organization of North Sulawesi on May 28, presided by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. The event was held in North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, in coordination with the Provincial Government of North Sulawesi.
The National Month of Civil Togetherness (Bulan Bhakti Gotong Royong Masyarakat, BBGRM) is an annual event which aims to revive the spirit of mutual cooperation among the North Sulawesi community. This event is expected to raise awareness and active role of the community, through mutual cooperation, in accelerating development in the region.
During the course of the event, the new Consul General interacted with high-level officials and stakeholders in attendance, in particular the Indonesian President, Minister of Interior Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Human Development and Cultural Affairs Puan Maharani, the Provincial Governor Dr. Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, high-level businessmen and stakeholders of North Sulawesi with the aim of enhancing Philippines-Indonesia border trade and cooperation in the region.
