01 June 2015 – Philippine Consul General Oscar G. Orcine successfully headed the repatriation of 52 Filipino fishermen in Bitung City, Indonesia, on May 31 via Philippine Navy Vessel BRP Cebu (PS28), which was in Bitung City as part of the PH-RI Coordinated Patrol Exercises (CORPAT PHILINDO XXIX-15) from May 28. The 52 Filipinos are in good health in the course of their repatriation to their families in Davao and General Santos Cities.
The Philippine Consulate General in Manado will continue to monitor the cases of Filipino fishermen who have strayed into Indonesian waters, and is committed to upholding the interests and securing the well-being of all Filipinos within its jurisdiction in Eastern Indonesia. END
