03 June 2015 - The Manila Chamber Singers (MCS), one of the leading choral groups in the Philippines, performed for Filipino and Dutch audiences in a series of concerts in The Netherlands from May 22 to 25.

The MCS held concerts in The Hague on May 23, in Gouda on May 24, and in Rotterdam on May 25. The visit of the MCS in the Netherlands and its series of concerts were facilitated with the cooperation and assistance of the Filipino Catholic Community (FCC) in The Hague and the FCC in Rotterdam.

Philippines Ambassador to The Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda graced the performances of the MCS in The Hague and Rotterdam, delivering his remarks on both occasions.  In his remarks, he shared the unique and diverse traits, personalities, and talents of Filipinos that make them produce choral resonances that can only be described as enchanting.

The MCS have won several international choral competitions and are now on their 4th European concert tour starting from May 22 to July 02. 

As part of this tour, it will represent the Philippines in various choral festivals, including the 8th Sine Musica Nulla Vita International Choral Festival from May 28 to June 02 in Egeln, Germany.

The MCS is composed of young professionals and students who share a passion for fine choral music. The choir consists of 14 members led by Choirmaster William Lloyd S. Cordero.

This was the second visit of MCS to The Netherlands following its performances in Rotterdam in May 2011. END
