04 June 2015 - As part of its ongoing efforts to promote Visit Philippines Year and encourage tourism arrivals from Argentina, the Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, in partnership with Emirates Airlines, conducted a Philippine tourism presentation and training seminar for representatives of major wholesale tour operators in Rosario, Sta. Fe Province, on May 26.
Second Secretary and Consul Ma. Carmela Teresa A. Cabreira made the tourism presentation and conducted the training seminar on behalf of the Embassy. Emirates Airlines Sales Manager for Argentina Carlota D’Adamo also gave a brief presentation on the possible routes and connections offered by her company.
During the open forum, the tour operators raised their travel questions and gave their opinions on how to best promote the Philippines in Argentina based on their experiences. Rosario is an important market for tour operators as it is the third most populous city in Argentina and is an important economic center due to agricultural production.
The tourism presentation and training seminar is part of a series of tourism promotion activities that will be undertaken by the Embassy this year. According to the latest tourism arrival statistics of the Department of Tourism (DOT), there has been an increase of 79.11% in arrivals from Argentina in the first quarter of 2015 as compared to the same quarter last year.
