29 August 2013 - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, in its continued mission of providing the latest information about the Philippines to Filipino citizens in the MidWest, recently launched the free viewing of The Filipino Channel (TFC) in its consular waiting area on August 27.  The TFC on demand IPTV set-up box and the TFC Premium Package, which includes, among others, ANC, Balitang Amerika and other news and public affairs program, were donated by TFC.   

The Consulate received the IPTV set-up box from Mr. Jonathan Go, Territory Head-Central of TFC, who was accompanied by Mr. Ron Lim, authorized dealer for the MidWest.  Aside from the set-up box and the premium package, Mr. Go also provided the Consulate with copies of their free monthly magazines, which were placed in the consular waiting area.

“With the showing of ANC and other news programs in the consular waiting area, our kababayans in Chicagoland and the MidWest can now be kept abreast of what is happening in our homeland while they wait for their services to be finished”, Consul General Leo Herrera-Lim said.

Mr. Go informed the Consulate that TFC is just starting to enter the MidWest, recognizing the growing number of Filipinos in Middle America.

Brochures about the TFC Channel and its offered packages were also placed in the consular waiting area for interested Filipinos.  END
