09 June 2015 - The new Philippine Consul General to Manado Oscar G. Orcine paid a courtesy call to the North Sulawesi Provincial Governor Dr. Sinyo Harry Sarundajang in the Governor’s residence on June 04. The Consul General was accompanied by Vice Consul Jan Sherwin P. Wenceslao, Protocol Officer Mr. Noli M. Susi, and Translator/Interpreter Novia Lambey.

During the course of the meeting, the Governor, in behalf of North Sulawesi Government, warmly welcomed the Consul General and hoped that the cooperation in various sectors between the Philippines and North Sulawesi could be developed more in the future.  Likewise, the Consul General noted the significant progress attained by the Provincial Government of North Sulawesi in economic, trade and infrastructure developments of the province in relation with the Philippines, in light of its potential to act as the “International Gateway” to Eastern Indonesia.

The meeting discussed outstanding matters between the Philippines and Eastern Indonesia on regional interconnectivity, people-to-people exchange, cross-border trade and Philippine investments in Indonesia. END
