10 June 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara launched iRehistro on board oil tanker ships docked at Tuzla Port in Istanbul last May 30.

The team, composed of Voters-Registration-Machine (VRM) Operator Jose D. Aguilera Jr. and Assistant Cristopher B. Baguya, registered a total of 41 seafarers from three ships namely, M/T Yara Gerda, Hafnia Nordica and Kriti Stakia.

Power failure on board M/T Hafnia Nordica failed to dampen the team’s goal to registering seafarers for overseas voting.

The following day, during the monthly consular mission in Istanbul, the team registered an additional 35 Filipinos as overseas voters. END
