10 June 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Athens conducted consular mobile services and met with the Filipino community in Heraklion, Crete on June 07.

Philippine Ambassador to Greece Nestor Z. Ochoa led the Embassy team which includes a representative of the Pag-IBIG office in Athens, who also stood in for the representatives of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Athens.

During the visit, Ambassador Ochoa met with the Filipino community and administered the oaths of office of the new set of officers of the Filipino Club Irakleo Crete (FCIC), a Filipino organization in Crete led by its President Brenda Dela Cruz.

The Embassy team processed 10 passport renewal applications, 15 applications for overseas voters registration, eight recapture of biometrics, six applications for correction of wrong entries, seven applications for reactivation of voter’s registration, and 12 applications for change of address. 

The Pag-IBIG, POLO, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) representative also processed five applications for OWWA membership, 51 Pag-IBIG contribution updates, one Pag-IBIG housing loan application, one Pag-IBIG death claim application and answered various queries about OWWA and Pag-IBIG.

The mission was completed in cooperation with the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Heraklion, Crete, POLO, the Pag-IBIG representative’s office in Athens and Filipino community volunteers. END
