riyadh emir

15 June 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Ezzedin Tago paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Riyadh HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud at the Emir’s Office in Riyadh. Ambassador Tago was accompanied during the meeting by Second Secretary and Consul Winston Dean Almeda.

During the meeting, the Philippine Ambassador thanked the Emir of Riyadh and his office for extending assistance in the cases of Filipinos in Riyadh Region, especially through the Committee on Reconciliation.

The Philippine Ambassador also expressed appreciation for the Office of the Emir’s recent instructions forming an inter-agency committee to address issues related to female household service workers (HSWs) to facilitate their early repatriation.

Ambassador Tago also discussed with the Emir of Riyadh several cases involving Filipinos in Riyadh region, including cases of male Filipinos who were not able to correct their status in the Kingdom during the correction period or leave in time as allowed by the Royal Decrees issued by the late King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

“It was a pleasure to again meet HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar, whom I had the honor of meeting in January 2011 when he was Emir of Qassim Region.  To my surprise, he remembered details of our 2011 meeting.  Days after our meeting last week, I thank him for taking quick action on a few matters on which I sought his kind assistance”, Ambassador Tago said on June 10 after the Emir ordered immediate action on several pending cases brought to his attention.
