23 June 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, led by Consul General Rosalita S. Prospero, officially launched on June 15 the exhibit of renowned painter, Manuel D. Baldemor. The exhibit forms part of the Consulate General’s commemorative activities to celebrate the 117th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence.
In attendance were members of the Consular Corps of Toronto, members of the Philippine Artists’ Group (PAG) in Toronto led by its founder , “Maestro” Romi Mananquil, and various sectors of Toronto’s social and business communities, including Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan’s Director for Government and Corporate Affairs, Marc Dupont. The City Council of Toronto was represented by The Honourable James Pasternak, Ward 10, York Centre who received on behalf of the City Council the artist’s painting donation, entitled “Bayanihan sa Pag-Unlad”. Baldemor’s exhibit of 44 paintings with the theme, “Doon Po Sa Amin” (In My Hometown) was on public display from June 15 to 19 at the Main Lobby, Northeast grounds, of the North York Civic Centre. END
