29 June 2015 – The new Philippine Consul General to Manado Oscar G. Orcine paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Manado City, Dr. G.S. Vicky Lumentut, at the Mayor’s Office on June 18. The Consul General was accompanied by Vice Consul Jan Sherwin P. Wenceslao, Protocol Officer Mr. Noli M. Susi and Translator/Interpreter Novia Lambey.

During the course of the meeting, the Consul General and the Mayor discussed opportunities for cooperation between Manado and General Santos Cities, in particular through the revitalization of existing Sister-City agreements between Manado and Davao, and Manado and General Santos Cities, and the enhancement of trade and tourism, in light of the recent initiatives to improve regional interconnectivity through the establishment of air and sea transportation links between North Sulawesi and Southern Mindanao.
