29 June 2015 - A South African business delegation visited the Philippines in the later part of May in search of partnership opportunities for South African goods and services. The delegation was led by Director Brian Soldaat of the Investment Promotion arm of South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry.
The delegation, hosted by Director Angelica Cayas of DTI and PCCI President Alfredo Yao, was composed of 12 South African companies with various interests, including fruits and vegetables, beverages, sauces, chocolates, dairy products, cosmetics, and mining.
Many countries, including South Africa, see the Philippines as one of the world’s fastest emerging markets, seeing GDP growth at 7.2% in 2013 and an 18% investment growth rate. The country is expected to see continuing growth as it positions itself to be “Asia’s bright spot.” END
