Bangkok Kapihan sa Pasuguan 1

01 July 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted its 6th Kapihan sa Pasuguan on July 27 with a discussion of Philippine laws and free legal counseling for Overseas Filipinos by Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) lawyers (Bulacan chapter).

 

Atty. Minerva Ambrosio, National Director of the IBP National Center for Legal Aid, headed the IBP lawyers. Atty. Joseph Inocencio discussed annulments and correction of entries in birth certificates while Atty. Anel Martin Antero talked about laws on acquiring property in the Philippines. Attys. Pingki Bartolome-Bernabe, Francine Faith Longid-Dalumpines, Anselmo Samonte, and Michael Tito Sajor joined them in the one-on-one legal counseling that followed.

 

The mission attracted a significant number of Filipino community members who said they were glad to attend the Kapihan and that they learned a lot from the discussion. They are looking forward future Kapihan and other events by the Embassy. The Embassy encouraged them to recommend topics for the next Kapihan.

The Embassy regularly conducts the Kapihan for the Filipino Community in Thailand. Through the program, the Embassy is able to discuss important issues, share new ideas and best practices, and engage the Filipino community in meaningful dialogue. The Embassy collaborates with individuals, organizations and government agencies interested in sharing their work with the Filipino Community in Thailand. END
