03 July 2015 – The Jollibee Food Corporation has tasked its International Operations Department to conduct a thorough market study in Myanmar, as the country moves towards an open market economy during its democratic transformation.
At the courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua on June 25, Mr. Hiker Repalda, International Operations Officer of Jollibee, said that Jollibee has received several inquiries from Myanmar companies on Jollibee franchise.
Jollibee is optimistic, that with the support of the Filipino community in Myanmar, its global footing will find realization in Yangon, Mandalay, and other key cities of Myanmar. Majority of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Myanmar are composed of professional hardworking individuals, which reflects Jollibee’s guiding business principle in achieving global brand status.
In addition to OFWs in Myanmar, Ambassador Chua noted that Jollibee may have a niche among Myanmar youth who are increasingly becoming cosmopolitan and wishing to try something new. Jollibee can also introduce to Myanmar families the culture of “fun service” that is truly a Philippine trademark. END
