09 July 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to Mexico Catalino R. Dilem, Jr. met with Parque Agua Azul Director Eduardo Salcedo Campos on July 03. Parque Agua Azul is one of the most important and popular public parks in the City of Guadalajara. It is located in a 20-hectare property in the middle of the city. There are currently approximately 4,000 plants (mostly trees) planted in the park. Also present during the meeting were Ms. Andrea Alejandra Castillon Camarena, Head of the Department of Culture and Environmental Education of the Ministry of Environment and Ecology office in Guadalajara and representatives from the local media in both print and radio.
During the meeting, the Philippine Ambassador informed local officials that the Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources has already identified three species that can adapt to the climate and topography of Guadalajara.
Ambassador Dilem also informed the media that the Philippine government will work closely with officials from Guadalajara City in order to conclude this worthy endeavor of both governments. END
