14 July 2015 - In line with its efforts to register more Filipinos as overseas voters (OV), the Philippine Embassy in Athens conducted two Akyat Barko mobile registration missions at the Port of Piraeus.

The first Akyat Barko was conducted on July 07 on board the Norwegian Jade wherein 90 Filipino seafarers went for OV registration.

The second Akyat Barko was conducted on July 08 onboard the Rhapsody of the Seas wherein the Philippine Embassy processed 69 OV registration applications.

The Philippine Embassy in Athens intends to conduct more missions in order to register more Filipino seafarers on board the different passenger cruise ships docking at Piraeus Port.  The overseas voters registration will end on October 31.

The Embassy was able to perform this task with the kind cooperation of the Piraeus Port Authorities and the human resources offices and agents of the said vessels. END
