16 July 2015 - The Philippine Postal Service (PhilPost) launched in Malaysia its innovative program and services for overseas Filipino, including its money remittances services, during the visit of Postmaster General Ma. Josefina M. Dela Cruz from July 10 to 13.

On July 12, Postmaster-General Dela Cruz met with the officers and members of the Federation of Filipino Associations in Malaysia (FFAM) and other members of the Filipino community to present the new services being undertaken by PhilPost, one of which is the remittance service offered at a cheaper rate, and is a more reliable and faster service.

Aside from the new remittance service, PhilPost continues to improve its mailing system, parcel delivery and international express transfers.

In his remarks before the presentation, Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia J. Eduardo Malaya conveyed his warm greetings to the Postmaster General and her delegation during their visit to the Embassy and requested the Filipino community to support PhilPost’s schemes, which will boost the Philippine economy.

Postmaster General Dela Cruz, who was previously the provincial governor of Bulacan and the first woman Postmaster General, is committed to deliver the new postal services to every Filipino who avails of it.

The Postmaster General also conveyed her heartfelt thanks to the FFAM leaders and to the Embassy officers and staff, who made the meeting a huge success.

“This is so far one of the biggest and the most enthusiastic crowd that we have visited overseas,” she said.

The PhilPost has partnered with the International Money Express (IME) Kuala Lumpur in the money remittance enterprise.

IME Chief Executive Officer and Director Espen Kristensen said during his remarks before the leaders of FFAM that Filipinos are one of their favorite clients, and so “we are dedicated to extend efficient and affordable services to them.”

The IME services are available at the Kota Raya Complex and other areas.
