For the first time, members of the Dimasalang III International Artists Group and other noted Filipino-Canadian artists in Vancouver worked with renowned painter Manuel Baldemor to produce an art piece highlighting the Filipino heritage and culture.

Displaying remarkable mastery with the paintbrush, Mr. Baldemor led fellow artists in combining together in a single canvass, a collage of individual artworks featuring images of various Filipiniana costumes, means of livelihood and iconic symbols like the sarimanok, Philippine eagle, balangay and vinta.

The finished painting was donated by the artists to the Philippine Consulate General to form part of its art display. Mr. Baldemor intends to continue his interaction painting sessions with foreign-based artists to foster camaraderie and increase art consciousness among the Filipino community. END
