21 July 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco presented his credentials to Their Excellencies Captains Regent Andrea Belluzzi and Roberto Venturini of the Republic of San Marino as non-resident Ambassador to San Marino at the Palazzo Publico in San Marino on July 16 .
In his statement during the ceremony, Ambassador Nolasco underscored that both the Philippines and San Marino are staunch democracies, committed to the rule of law, good governance, respect for human rights and the protection and preservation of the environment.
He expressed readiness to explore areas of cooperation to enhance bilateral relations particularly in the fields of trade and investments, banking and finance services, education, sustainable tourism, cultural exchanges and fiscal transparency, among others.
On the other hand, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of San Marino Pasquale Valentini conveyed his interest to increase tourist and people-to-people exchanges and to further cooperate on inter-country adoption.
San Marino is the oldest surviving sovereign state and is headed by two Captains Regent elected with a six month mandate. The next investiture ceremony of the new Captains Regent is scheduled on October 01. END
