21 July 2015 - Philippine Consul General in Milan Marichu Mauro headed the consular outreach mission in Bologna, Italy from July 11 to 12. This is the second time the Philippine Consulate General in Milan conducted a consular service in the city of Bologna this year. Filipino residents in Bologna and its neighboring towns and cities in the region of Emilia Romagna availed of the services.
A total of 238 passport applications and 86 other services such as acknowledgment, affidavits, notarization of documents, civil registrations and translations were provided. The Consulate General also released a total of 245 passports which were previously applied for in the past months. The said consular service was joined by the overseas absentee voting team who was able to register 163 new registrants for the two days.
The partner agencies Philippine Labor Office (POLO), Social Security System (SSS), Office of Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Pag-IBIG Fund were also present on the first day. They issued overseas employment certificates (OEC), processed OWWA memberships and assisted claimants for retirement and other social benefits.
Consul General Mauro also took the opportunity to meet with the leaders of the Filipino associations in Bologna and the Filipino Federation in Emilia Romagna to further strengthen the cooperation between the Consulate General and the community and discussed projects that would benefit the Filipinos in the said region.
