athens workshop

21 July 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Athens participated in the workshop “Business Opportunities in Asian Markets” organized by the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) on July 14. The Embassy was represented by Second Secretary and Consul Sheila Marie C. Tario.

In his opening remarks, SEV International Activities Council Chairman Dr. Athanase Lavidas said that the workshop was organized by SEV in order for Greek businesses to find new investments in view of the economic crisis in Greece. He stated that Asia is a different area for Greeks to do business. He noted that despite the differences, there is an advantage in doing business with Asia as they have respect for Greece, its history and share the same values.

The workshop provided an opportunity for the Embassy to introduce the Philippines to the different Greek businessmen who attended the workshop. They were able to see the country’s economic growth, steady investment flows, robust domestic financial sector, and its dynamic people. They also learned about the country’s competitive investment incentives.

The Indonesian and Vietnamese Embassies were also invited to present in the workshop. END
