22 July 2015 - In a dinner hosted by French President Francois Hollande at the Elysée Palace for the delegates of the Summit of the Consciences for the Climate, the Philippines joins 45 different other countries in signing the Call to Conscience for the Climate which is a call to reflect and answer the question “Why Do I Care?” urging world leaders to represent their nations in the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) not just a representative of a Government or agency but “primarily as a conscious human being”. Senator Loren Legarda, representing the Philippines, joins these delegates from various sectors in signing the document.

During the dinner, French President Hollande mentioned his important and historic state visit to the Philippines in February 2015. President Hollande also highlighted the important role that the Philippines has played in encouraging the international community to meaningful action in the face of climate change. President Hollande cited Philippine-France Manila Call to Action on Climate Change which was one of the major outcomes of his visit. END
