23 July 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Milan, in collaboration with Associazione per gli Studi Giuridici sull’Immigrazione (ASGI), CODICI Agenzia di Ricerca Sociale, and Associazione Ricreativa Culturale Italiana (ARCI), with the support of the City Government of Milan, conducted a forum regarding the project “Milano Sono Anch’io” on July 16.

Milano Sono Anch’io is a project which aims to promote the right of citizenship through information and guidance.  Ms. Edda Pando of Associazione ARCI, an association that deals with basic social promotion in Italy, and Atty. Livio Neri of Associazione ASGI, a membership-based association focusing on all juridical aspects of immigration were the resource speakers for the said forum.  Atty. Domifel Umingli of the Philippine Consulate General was also present to discuss the re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship.

Philippine Consul General Marichu Mauro, in her opening remarks, extended her gratitude to the resource speakers for their relentless efforts to reach out to the Filipinos in Italy.  Around 20 leaders and members of various Filipino associations attended the seminar.

The resource speakers discussed the procedures and requirements in obtaining Italian citizenship. The same was also discussed for the re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship.

The forum concluded with an open forum where attendees had the opportunity to ask the resource speakers regarding specific questions and issues on citizenship. END
