27 July 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco hosted the ESCAP Ambassadors Working Luncheon at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome on July 22 with Director General Francesco La Camera of the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of Land and Sea as Guest of Honor.
The working luncheon’s discussion centered on the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference/ 21st Conference of Parties (COP 21) which will be held in Paris at the end of the year. Director General La Camera provided the Ambassadors with updates on the ongoing major processes as the international community gears towards the COP21.
Ambassadors from Pakistan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Myanmar, New Zealand, South Korea and Malaysia and Charges d’Affaires from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan attended the lunch. Also present were officials from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Director General for Global Affairs Luigi Efisio Marras and Deputy Director General for the Countries of Asia and Oceania Andrea Perugini.
The ESCAP Ambassadors Luncheon, held every month, enables the ESCAP Ambassadors to meet and get direct briefing from Italian Ministers and senior officials on issues that are of mutual interest to the member countries. END
