29 July 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka launched the Kapihan sa Pasuguan at the conference hall of the Philippine Chancery on July 24. The program aims to provide a casual and friendly atmosphere for Filipinos to gather and share insights into issues affecting the Philippines.
The Embassy apprised the attendees of developments on the West Philippine Sea (WPS) maritime dispute with highlights of the hearing on the WPS case held at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands from July 07 to 13 and a presentation of the video documentary series on the WPS, “KALAYAAN”.
Embassy officials responded to inquiries and concerns raised by the attendees and explained to them the importance of understanding issues that concern and involve the Philippines especially in the global arena. The Philippine Ambassador encouraged the Filipino community in Dhaka, as citizens and custodians of the welfare of the Philippines, to always be aware of and be well-informed on matters of great significance such as the WPS case so as to be able to adequately enlighten their colleagues and associates on the Philippine position.
