29 July 2015 - In line with the Philippine Consulate General’s objectives to promote gender-responsive, rights-based and culture-sensitive services, it conducted its first ever Stock Market Investment Seminar at the Consulate office on July 23 in collaboration with Migrants’ Advocacy for Integration Association (MAIA), an association which aims to give financial education to overseas foreign workers.

MAIA Founder and President Elienor Llanes-Castillo and Mr. Jericho Diaz from Brother Bo Sanchez’ Truly Rich Club were the speakers during the seminar.  In their presentation, they tackled the different kinds of stock investments. They also imparted valuable information about the procedures and requirements on how to buy stocks, gave advice on how to earn from them, and provided a list of reputable online brokers and companies who can help manage stocks.

Philippine Consul General Marichu Mauro expressed her gratitude to the speakers during her welcome remarks, for sharing their advocacy to the Filipino community. She also reiterated the Consulate General’s support to the Filipino community by continuing to organize seminars and forums which will greatly benefit their well-being and also those of their families in Italy and in the Philippines.

The seminar concluded with a shared discussion of ideas, opinions, and experiences about investments. Specific questions and issues about investments were also raised during the open forum. END
