30 July 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Alex G. Chua, witnessed the signing of the agreement on joint venture between United Laboratories Inc. (UNILAB), a Philippine pharmaceutical company, and Beauty Palace Co. Ltd., a Myanmar personal care products company.

The agreement, signed between UNILAB CEO and President Clinton Andrew Campos Hess and Beauty Palace Co. Ltd. Managing Director Myaing Hin, establishes the United Beauty Palace Myanmar which aims to provide quality and affordable personal care products in Myanmar.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Clinton Andrew Campos Hess expressed confidence that the joint venture will benefit from Unilab’s 70 years of providing quality products. UNILAB, from a small corner drugstore in Binondo in 1945, he said, is today the biggest pharmaceutical company in the Philippines capturing a 20% market share.

UNILAB has facilities throughout Southeast Asia. Its operations in Myanmar began in March 1997 offering such household name products as Biogesic, Alaxan, Enervon, among others. END
