31 July 2015 - C&D International Travel Services Group Co., Ltd., (C&D) officials composed of Vice General Manager Mr. Johnson Hong, Vice General Manager for Citizen Tourism Department Ms. Romy Fei, and Vice General Manager for Citizen Tourism Department / Visa Center Ms. Zheng Xianqing visited the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen on July 22 to inform that the company is planning to regularize their “cruise tour” to Manila and Boracay from Xiamen, which they last organized in 2013.
At present, C&D organizes similar tours to Japan and South Korea. They are also planning to organize similar tours to Vietnam. The company, which is a semi-government company, is one of the biggest travel and tourism agencies in China.
Philippine Consul General to Xiamen Julius Caesar Flores welcomed C&D’s planned cruise tours as a good opportunity for Chinese tourists to experience the beauty of the Philippine archipelago and renowned Filipino hospitality. He assured the Consulate General’s assistance to facilitate visa issuance and other related consular services to C&D’s clients. Furthermore, Consul General Flores underscored that the cruises would contribute to the enhancement of people-to-people contacts between the Philippines and Fujian province, which has long shared a deep historical bond.
Aside from Manila and Boracay, Consul General Flores also suggested for the C&D officials to consider Laoag and Vigan in northern Philippines, Cebu, and Palawan as future destinations for their cruise tours, either solely or as part of their current cruise tours to Okinawa, Japan. The Laoag-Vigan leg is an alternative route for their Okinawa cruise during the typhoon season. END
