03 August 2015 - The UP Concert Chorus (UPCC), the official choir of the University of the Philippines, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Consul General Mario L. de Leon, Jr. at the Philippine Consulate General in New York and rendered a short excerpt of its repertoire for the Filipino-American community at the Philippine Center Gallery.
The UP Concert Chorus is the 2015 Grand Prix winner in the 6th International Krakow Choral Festival held on June 14. The group was the only Asian choir that participated in the festival.
As part of the Goodwill International Concert Tour 2015, it also held a series of concerts in four churches in New York and New Jersey. With Ms. Janet Abas Aracama, as UPPC conductor, the UP Concert Chorus performs not only Philippine classical and folk repertoire but also pop and Broadway musical genre. END
