06 August 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Greece Nestor Z. Choa inducted into office the new set of officers of the Tinguians of Abra in Greece (TAG) during the induction ceremonies held on August 02 at the China Centre Restaurant in Halandri, Athens, Greece.  The TAG, led by its President, Imelda G. Valera, has 35 members and was formed in 2013.

In his remarks, Ambassador Ochoa related to TAG members his memorable experiences when he was assigned as a young military officer in the Cordillera region, particularly in Sallapadan, Abra.  He informed the TAG members that the Philippine Embassy’s doors are always open to all Filipinos who need the Embassy’s assistance. He stressed the importance of keeping communication lines open and the need for coordination especially during challenging times such as what Greece is experiencing at this time.  He also requested the organization’s support for the Embassy’s projects particularly in the registration of overseas voters for the 2016 National Elections.
