10 August 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo held a lecture on “Contemporary Philippines – its Foreign Policy, Security Strategy and Bilateral Relations to Bangladesh” for the participants of the National Defence Course at the National Defence College (NDC) Bangladesh on August 07.
Ambassador Bandillo spoke of the structure of Philippine foreign policy through brief presentations on the country’s history, government, culture, economy, tourism and international relations, more specifically on its involvement in current global issues. In addition, he gave an update on the bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Bangladesh, highlighting the increased areas of cooperation entered into by both countries.
The National Defence Course is a multidisciplinary program of the NDC offered annually to select senior officers of the armed forces, civil services and allied countries that aims to enhance participants’ competence in handling higher levels of management of national security. There are 80 senior officers from Bangladesh and other countries participating in this year’s course. A 25-member delegation from the class is scheduled to conduct an overseas study tour in the Philippines this September. END
