19 August 2015 – Philippine Consul General Rosalita S. Prospero paid a courtesy call on Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, on August 17 at the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite, The Lounge, Legislative Building, Queen’s Park, Toronto.

The Lieutenant Governor warmly welcomed and extended her best wishes to the newly arrived Consul General, who assumed her post three months ago.

Consul General Prospero and Lieutenant Governor Dowdeswell exchanged views on topics of mutual interest, including the environment and sciences. Consul General Prospero took this occasion to discuss the renewed momentum in Philippines-Canada relations following the visit of President Aquino to Canada in May 2015 as well as new opportunities for bilateral cooperation, including technology and innovation.

Lieutenant Governor Dowdeswell had visited the Philippines in the 1990s in her capacity as former Executive Director of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). END
