20 August 2015 - National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Chairman, Dr. Felipe de Leon, Jr., held a special lecture on Philippine culture and art for the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan.
Chairman de Leon, who was in Milan to attend the Philippine component of Yuval Avital’s contemporary multimedia installation Alma Mater, graciously set aside some time from his busy schedule to visit the Consulate General and hold the lecture.
The lecture proved enlightening for everyone present, as it helped Philippine Consul General to Milan Marichu Mauro and the staff and officers of the Consulate gain a better understanding of Philippine culture and art.
“I have been trying to get Chairman de Leon to hold a lecture at the Consulate General about Philippine culture and art as I believe he can provide us with great insights about our culture that will help tremendously in our efforts to promote the Philippines here in Italy,” Consul General Mauro said.
