28 August 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver paid a courtesy call on Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Self Defense Force, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at the Riffa Palace, Bahrain on August 12. His Royal Highness welcomed Ambassador Ver to Bahrain and wished him every success in his new role.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and for His Royal Highness’ interest in further developing relations between Bahrain and the Philippines.

His Royal Highness highlighted the depth of relations between Bahrain and the Philippines, and the interests of both countries in further developing ties across various sectors. He praised the growth of bilateral ties between the two countries and highlighted a number of official bilateral visits that have taken place. He then highlighted the importance of strengthening trade and investment relations in order to create more investment opportunities for both countries, and noted the role of Bahrain’s Filipino community in contributing to the development of the Kingdom.
