28 August 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales, officials of the Philippine Overseas Labour Office headed by Labour Attaché Ramon Tionloc Jr. and officials of the the Philippine Embassy in Singapore warmly received Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and her team in Singapore on August 22. The trip is part of a regional working visit that also includes Malaysia and Brunei. The DOLE Secretary was accompanied by Undersecretary Reydeluz Conferido, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) chief Atty. Hans Cacdac, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) chief Rebecca Calzado and other DOLE/POEA officials.
While in Singapore, Secretary Baldoz and her team met with members of the Filipino community and officials of employment agencies in line with her agency’s efforts to help ensure the well-being of overseas Filipino workers. The DOLE Secretary also conducted ocular site inspections of skills training programs at the Bayanihan Centre and the Filipino Workers Rehabilitation Centre in connection with a project to have skills and training programs offered in Singapore to be accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA).
