01 September 2015 – Philippine Deputy Consul General Giovanni Palec welcomed in the Consulate General Ms. Alfe Uy, the first runner-up winner in the maiden edition of Manappuram Ms. Asia pageant held recently in Kerala, India. Deputy Consul General Palec also conveyed, on behalf of Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes, the congratulations of the Consulate General on her recent success in the beauty pagent circuit.   

The bedimpled Dumaguete native and Silliman University graduate who currently works as Human Resource manager in a company in Deira, Dubai bested other contestants in the pageant where Ms India was later proclaimed  as the first Miss Asia. 

In her talent portion during the competition, which had no bathing suit segment, Ms. Uy made an acting presentation involving Filipina heroes. 

Earlier this year, she was also proclaimed as first runner-up during the Ms. Fil-Independence Day beauty pageant in Dubai.   END
