02 September 2015 - Representatives of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore joined a celebration of Philippine culture at the Darul Arqam Auditorium at Onan Road, on August 30. The event was spearheaded by the Muslim Converts Association of Singapore (MCAS). A number of MCAS members are of Filipino heritage and are strong partners of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore.

 

Popular songs and dances, including the tinikling were performed on stage to the delight of the crowd who were in attendance. The celebration culminated with a sumptuous later afternoon buffet of popular Filipino dishes and desserts.

 

In their remarks, officials of the Philippine Embassy and Darul Arqam shared the view that culture is one of the most effective media in promoting understanding among peoples of different races, dialects and religions. END
