02 September 2015 - Two separate delegations of officials from the Philippines conducted familiarization trips to Singapore. A group of post-graduate students from Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan came to Singapore to undergo a benchmarking activity as part of the requirement in their course on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The participants came from regional and local offices of Philippine executive agencies. The group visited the Philippine Embassy on August 28 where they were given a briefing on Philippine-Singapore relations in general.

 

On August 31, Congressman Winston Castelo and Congressman Juan “Johnny” Revilla, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Metro Manila Development, came to Singapore to meet with officials of the Singapore Housing Development Board (HDB) and the Land Transport Authority to seek insights on Singapore’s best practices in land transport and housing management.

 

On September 01, some 150 local government officials also visited the Philippine Embassy. Among other things, the group is in Singapore to attend a lecture conducted by the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority. END
