03 September 2015 - The Comunidad Filipina en Argentina (CONFIAR), the small but tightly knit Filipino community organization in Argentina, celebrated its first anniversary on August 30 at the Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires.
Before the start of the program, the Embassy showed a video of the documentary “Kalayaan, Pamanang Karagatan” for the CONFIAR members to have a better understanding of the West Philippine Sea issue.
During the occasion, Mr. Virgilio Mendoza, one of the longest staying Filipino resident in Argentina, was given a certificate of appreciation by CONFIAR President Lourdes Orevillo.
Dance and song numbers as well as games enlivened the event as Filipino community members enjoyed a day of camaraderie. END
