03 September 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, together with six other foreign missions representing Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Uzbekistan and Singapore, participated in this year’s Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) Bangladesh, the fourth edition of the country’s biggest tourism exhibition that features the best travels in the Asian region, held at the International Convention Center in Dhaka from August 27 to 29.
Speaking at the fair’s inaugural ceremony on August 27, Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the organizers of the fair, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Bangladesh Tourism Board, for inviting the Philippine Embassy to the event and providing it with the opportunity to endorse the Visit the Philippines 2015 programs and activities. In thanking the participating foreign missions at the fair, Parjatan Bichitra Editor Mohiuddin Helal invited them to next year’s mega tourism event as he officially announced 2016 as the Visit to Bangladesh Year which ATF expects to host 30 countries, 300 exhibitors, and 400 booths that would showcase Asian regional tourism at its best.
Ambassador Bandillo welcomed at the Philippine booth Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, invited chief guest at the fair, and handed him a copy of Kulinarya Philippine cookbook, tourism brochures and a shirt with a screen-printed customized logo of tour in the Philippines.
Around 40 travel agencies, tour operators, hotels and airlines joined the fair with offers of tourism packages to and from different Asian cities. END
