10 September 2013 – The Philippine Embassy in Paris attended the second anniversary of the One Ganap Guardians (OGG) Marseille Supreme Chapter on August 31 in Marseille France. The event held at the China Vina Restaurant was attended by close to 180 Filipinos who are living in the region.

Marseille is the second largest city in France, after Paris and an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 Filipinos live and work in the area. Representatives from the neighboring cities of Aix-en-Provence and Beausoleil were also in attendance. Father Percival Redona, a Claretian priest who resided in Marseille was also present. To show their support, some members of the OCG Paris Supreme Chapter, led by their President Lito Lacson, were also at the event.

During the event, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Andre Peter C. Estanislao led the oath- taking of over 40 new members of the OCG Marseille at the helm of which was their present Eugene Caole.

Mr. Estanislao, in his remarks, highlighted the impressive 7.6% average GDP growth for the first semester of the 2013 and other notable achievements of the Aquino administration in the Philippines. He also provided information on the Embassy’s activities and projects, such as the celebration of the Buwan ng Wika, UNESCO World Heritage Sites Exhibition, The December Lisieux crèche exposition and more. Mr. Caole, for his part, informed every one of the various activities that their organizations have undertaken such as the basketball tournaments and the Binibining Pilipinas Marseille pageant, among others.
